Anyone care to point out why I have lost karma? I haven't been swearing, or spamming, anything. If this is AleKs being angry about his character profile tell me. Because if it is I would like to have Mel fix my karma because I was perfectly justified in doing what I did.

And you lost another point for complaining about a pretty not-noticed thing in the profile. Karma is something for members. There's a reason it's open to everyone and demanding that it is set back does not help it.

If you looked at AleKs profile and the problems we were having with him making it, though, you'd see that aleKs would have jutifyable right to smite him. If anything, we could.
Life may not be fair, but that doesn't mean that we don't have to be.
I think you lost a point for swearing because one was gone just after mainstreet complained. I know you lost a point just then, mainstreet said so. But I don't what that other point could be.
Wait, I just looked at the security logs. It was AleKs, so I'll exalt you to make up for it. I won't get rid of the other points, though.
Oh, and mainstreet? It may go generally unnoticed, but sometimes people do notice it. At OT especially, it is noticed a lot because we've had so many incidents. Like when aleKs was being stupid and I kept smiting him for it. He got all upset because he had something like -20 karma or something.

My position on Karma that if it is used, members shouldn't really need an excuse to use it as long as it isn't abused...
If you don't like the system, go to General Settings and get rid of it (Tel'Erusva), or just ignore it (everyone else).
Tel'Erusva loses a point for caving in to a single complaint that goes against the system.

Caving? Hardly. I agreed fully with it from the first, it's entirely unreasonable for AleKs to smite him for that when AleKs was the one who created the entire problem. And if you must, then consider it a point for doing his job well, which was what he was doing when AleKs smote him.
I do like the system, I just don't like those who use it unfairly.

If I ever doubted that I had a point, I would never have changed it. For example, I'm not entirely sure how fair it is to smite me for "caving", but I won't change it either.

If I ever doubted that I had a point, I would never have changed it. For example, I'm not entirely sure how fair it is to smite me for "caving", but I won't change it either. Because you'd prove my point by changing it back. The point: The karma system is there for members to use with members. If someone wants to take away karma, as long as they aren't doing it for no reason, it shouldn't be a problem. Even a difference of opinion can warrant a karma hit (which it did).

No, not because I'd prove your point by changing it back. Because my own point was not strong enough to warrant it.

No, not because I'd prove your point by changing it back. Because my own point was not strong enough to warrant it. Both reasons are valid.
